Came here for lunch with family for a special birthday.Food was good although I didnt get what I asked for.I am intolerant to onions and I had them put on my plate despite asking two times not to put them on my plate.The waiter seemed inpatient and unhappy when my brother asked for more time to decide upon his order.If the waiter had been nicer and hidden his intolerance better maybe I would have enjoyed the meal more.I dont think I will be returning in a hurry.
Afternoon tea at the Crown Lodge Hotel is a wonderful experience you will not forget. Attentive service, with the quality of the sandwiches, scones and cake second to none. Even their selection of teas is far superior than other hotels afternoon tea. I brought my cousin there to celebrate her birthday and she has been fortunate enough to compare the whole afternoon tea experience with Fortnum and Masons and commented that she thought the quality of the Crown Lodge food, tea and friendly service was better. We will do this again next year.
Standard rooms are simple but always clean, and food is excellent. Very good quality restaurant onsite which is a real bonus as this place is quite remote. If in the area, this is one of the best around. I've tried a few around Wisbech. This place takes the pick.
Fantastic to see how this charming hotel has changed over the years since our wedding reception there 21 years ago. Great staff. High quality.
On a boat holiday and moored up outside. Looking at the menu there was nothing vegan myself. However staff were very accommodating and the chef quickly came up with 3 new options he was happy to create or would make anything I asked for! The staff were friendly and helpful, food delicious and well presented and there wasn't a single fault! Highly recommended.
